And nature benefits too: SULKY® is produced in a particularly
resource-saving and environmentally friendly way and is also bio-degradable!
Important!
The elongation of viscose is lower than that of polyester.
Advantage: after sewing and embroidering the thread is more even, the fabric warps less.

Colour Changes in Embroidery Threads Due to the Addition of Chlorine to the Wash
Colour Changes in Embroidery Threads Due to the Addition of Chlorine to the Wash
As often with discolorations, your claim is traceable to the use of additives containing chlorine (bleaches) in the wash or spotre¬mover containing chlorine.
Even though SULKY® meets the highest standards with respect to fastness, such as fastness to high wash temperatures, fastness to light (will not fade), fastness to perspiration, additives containing chlorine are not permitted. This applies not only to our SULKY®, but to all of the artificial machine silk threads on the market. This is why all of the colour charts for artificial machine silk threads exhibit the symbol , which stands for a prohibition of chlorine additives.

All the manufacturers are making every attempt to improve the resistance of machine-made artificial silk thread to chlorine. There are differences from one colour to the next, however, and every colour consists of several dye components. Discoloration may or may not occur, depending on the accidental concentration of chlorine and the temperature. There are even cases where only one half of the embroidery was discolored, but not the other, when the concentration of chlorine was within the threshold range.
Even if it were possible to dye artificial silk to be 100 % resis¬tant to chlorine, a high concentration of chlorine would destroy viscose much earlier than other fibers, such as polyester.
This is why we recommend that you embroider articles such as work clothing that will be exposed to dirt, with POLY 40, chlorine-fast polyester embroidery threads.
