The light, thin embroidery stabilizer, 37 g/m², is a tear-away stabilizer – tears lengthwise, crosswise, and diagonally.

Available in white and black.


This thin stabilizer is very soft, adds hardly any bulk, and can be torn away almost without residue after embroidery. This stabilizer is a good alternative to STIFFY 1620 when a bit more stability is required for an embroidery design. The clean tear edges along the embroidery increase wearing comfort.

The time saved by the quick tear-away process means higher productivity in embroidery.

STIFFY 1640 – for lightweight and medium-weight fabrics


  • Hoop the stabilizer together with the fabric before embroidering. 
  • Embroider the design. 
  • Remove the hoop. 
  • Carefully tear away the stabilizer – it separates very easily.
