The light, medium-weight embroidery stabilizer, 51 g/m², is a PE-coated tear-away stabilizer for ironing on – tears lengthwise, crosswise, and diagonally.
Available in white and black.
Recommended for embroidery on stretchable materials!
Elastic fabrics tend to distort during embroidery – which is why they require an embroidery stabilizer that can be temporarily ironed on. Stabilizers become iron-on when coated with PE (smooth side of the stabilizer).
The ironed-on stabilizer gives knitwear and fabrics with elastane more support and stability, preventing the fabric from distorting during embroidery. This thin stabilizer is soft, adds hardly any bulk, and can be torn away almost without residue after embroidery, despite being ironed on. The clean tear edges along the embroidery increase wearing comfort.
The time saved by quickly tearing away the stabilizer results in higher embroidery productivity.

STIFFY 1640B – for lightweight and medium-weight knits and knitted fabrics
- Iron STIFFY 1640B onto the reverse side of the fabric with the coated (smooth) side facing the fabric.
- Hoop the fabric with the stabilizer.
- Embroider the design.
- Remove the hoop.
- Carefully tear away the stabilizer – it separates very easily despite the iron-on bond.
